Celestron Omni Eyepiece - 2" 56mm

The Celestron Omni 56mm Eyepiece is a low-power, wide-field 2-inch eyepiece designed to deliver excellent light transmission and expansive views of the night sky. Its four-element, fully multi-coated Plössl optical design provides a 47° apparent field of view, combining low magnification with a wide viewing area. It is ideal for observing deep-sky objects such as star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies, particularly when used with longer focal-length telescopes like Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain and EdgeHD models. It is also suitable for daytime viewing of panoramic landscapes.

Optical Performance and Construction

The Omni 56mm features large lenses that provide bright, wide-field views. Its black-painted internal barrel, internal baffles, and blackened lens edges help reduce unwanted reflections and enhance image contrast.

Comfort and Compatibility

The eyepiece includes a fold-down rubber eyeguard and generous 52mm eye relief, providing comfortable viewing for users with or without eyeglasses. Its 2-inch threaded barrel accepts compatible 2-inch filters and fits 2-inch star diagonals and focusers. A safety groove helps prevent the eyepiece from slipping out if the focuser's securing thumbscrews loosen, while the integrated knurled rubber grip offers secure, slip-resistant handling.
