Celestron Neutral Density Filter, 1.25"
The Celestron Neutral Density Moon Filter reduces the amount of light reaching your eyepiece by 87%, allowing only 13% of the incoming light to pass through. This helps reduce lunar glare and makes it more comfortable to observe the Moon’s surface details, especially when it is bright. Unlike colored filters, the neutral density design dims all visible wavelengths evenly, preserving the Moon’s natural colors without introducing an artificial tint. It is also useful for reducing glare and improving contrast when observing bright planets such as Venus and Jupiter, or when viewing bright stars while separating close double-star pairs.
Durable Design and Compatibility
The filter features optical glass housed in an aluminum cell that attaches to standard 1.25-inch eyepieces. Its threaded design on both sides allows it to be stacked with compatible color filters for greater flexibility during observations.
