Celestron Advanced VX 8" EdgeHD Telescope

The Celestron Advanced VX (AVX) 8" EdgeHD Telescope combines the Advanced VX German equatorial mount with Celestron’s advanced EdgeHD optical system, creating a highly versatile platform for both visual observation and astrophotography. Designed with flexibility in mind, this setup gives imagers multiple focal-ratio options to adapt the telescope to different imaging requirements. The 8" EdgeHD optical system provides a flat, well-corrected field designed to deliver pinpoint stars all the way to the edge of the CCD sensor. This makes the telescope particularly well suited to astrophotographers who want to take full advantage of their camera's imaging area without sacrificing image quality toward the edges. One of the major advantages of this system is its three imaging configurations. Attach a camera directly to the rear of the telescope for imaging at f/10, add Celestron’s 8" EdgeHD focal reducer for f/7, or use the Fastar/HyperStar-compatible design for ultra-fast f/2 imaging. This flexibility allows the same telescope to adapt to different astrophotography applications. The Advanced VX mount provides a capable foundation for these imaging configurations while incorporating Celestron’s advanced technologies. All-Star Polar Alignment simplifies polar alignment, Celestron PWI telescope control software provides computerized telescope control, and permanently programmable periodic error correction (PPEC) supports tracking performance for astrophotography. For experienced imagers, the portable Advanced VX platform makes it practical to travel to dark-sky locations while enjoying many of the conveniences associated with larger observatory mounts. For beginners, it provides a versatile system that can support their astrophotography journey as their skills and needs develop.
