The Celestron Advanced VX (AVX) 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope combines substantial aperture, a portable design, and advanced equatorial mount technology to create a versatile platform for both visual observation and astrophotography. As part of Celestron's Advanced VX lineup, it brings many of the capabilities found on more sophisticated German equatorial mounts into an accessible mid-level telescope system. The 9.25-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube provides 33% more light-gathering ability than an 8-inch telescope, offering increased capability for observing and imaging celestial objects. Its Schmidt-Cassegrain optical design also eliminates chromatic aberration, making it a strong choice for those beginning their journey into astrophotography. Despite its substantial aperture, the system is designed with portability in mind. Each individual component—including the optical tube and tripod—weighs no more than 20 lb, making the telescope manageable for one person to transport and assemble. This portability makes it practical for taking the system to different observing locations and dark-sky sites. The Advanced VX mount incorporates Celestron's advanced technologies, including All-Star Polar Alignment, Celestron PWI telescope control software, and permanently programmable periodic error correction (PPEC). These features provide useful tools for alignment, computerized telescope control, and tracking during astrophotography. For experienced imagers, the portable Advanced VX 9.25" provides an opportunity to travel to dark-sky locations while retaining many of the conveniences associated with larger observatory mounts. For newcomers, it offers a capable platform for getting started with astrophotography and continuing to develop their skills over time.

Features

  • 9.25” (235mm) f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain includes StarBright XLT coatings for better light transmission
  • The most compact and portable of Celestron’s German equatorial mounts offers the same rigidity as our larger mounts with minimal flexure and an improved industrial design
  • Holds a maximum instrument capacity of 30 lb
  • Every feature an astroimager wants: PEC, an autoguider port, the ability to image across the meridian, and more
  • Dual saddle plate is compatible with narrow CG-5 dovetails and wider CGE dovetail. Also compatible with Vixen format dovetails longer than 100mm, but not compatible with Losmandy D format plates.
  • Latitude range allows the mount to perform between 7° and 77° latitude
  • Accessories include a 25mm eyepiece, 1.25” star diagonal and 6x30 finderscope
