As the latest addition to Celestron’s computerized equatorial mount series, the CGX-L combines high load capacity, a compact design, and advanced features to provide a capable foundation for large telescopes, imaging equipment, and modern wireless accessories. At the heart of the CGX-L are its larger 144mm-diameter worm wheels, designed to provide smoother operation and more accurate drive performance when handling heavier loads. A 270mm-long dovetail saddle provides additional support for larger optical tubes, while the mount’s mechanical design is optimized to deliver the stability required for demanding observing and imaging applications.

The CGX-L is also designed with remote operation in mind. Integrated home and limit optical sensors make automated operation more practical, while improved polar alignment adjustments simplify setup and alignment. Enhanced cable management helps keep connections organized and reduces cable-related complications when operating a complex imaging system. Beyond its core performance, Celestron has made mechanical and ergonomic improvements throughout the mount to make it sturdier, easier to use, and easier to transport. The result is a versatile equatorial mount that balances substantial telescope support with thoughtful usability for both permanent and portable observatories. Compact. Ergonomic. Innovative. The CGX-L provides a powerful and modern platform for astronomers ready to work with larger telescopes and advanced imaging systems.

Features

14" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope

Celestron premium StarBright XLT coatings

CGX-L computerized Equatorial mount

Schmidt-Cassegrain mechanism that moves the primary mirror to adjust focus is supported by two pre-loaded ball bearings, minimizing the "mirror flop" typical of bushing focus mechanisms

Heavy duty stainless steel tripod adjustable from 38 - 55"

9x50 finderscope to help accurately find objects

Star diagonal provides more comfortable viewing position when observing objects that are high in the sky
